With a focus on helping customers to improve their profitability Fibernet’s TANet managed network services fall broadly into two categories. There are those that help our customers reduce their costs and there are those that help increase revenues. Often we can achieve both.

Our network services deliver greatest value for organisations that have two or more locations and whose businesses depend upon the ability to move very large quantities of data, voice or video traffic within and between each.

TANet network services also make great sense for organisations for whom security, unpredictable demand for bandwidth, flexibility (both technical and commercial) and management simplicity are all pre-requisites.

Organisations that most typically fall into this profile include Banking, Insurance, Financial Services firms and publishers.

How do we keep our costs low?

We leverage innovative technology, economies of scale and a cost oriented pricing model. Our national and metropolitan fibre networks are not only amongst the most pervasive in terms of coverage, they are also the most efficiently used in terms of utilisation. These key features result in lower prices.

How can we help keep your costs low?

Low prices for our services are only the beginning. We can help protect your business from the impact of disruption to your core services (by replicating main processing facilities in other locations, for example, or by duplicating or even tripling network routes between buildings.

We can help you to reduce the cost of meeting your regulatory obligations – in financial services, for example, there is much encouragement to increase the distance between main processing and business continuity and disaster recovery facilities.

How can we help you increase revenues?

Our customers often use their networks to deliver their own services to their end customers. New banking products, for example, can result in wild and unpredictable demands for network capacity. TANet networks can be designed to deal with sudden peaks in a way that scales cost in line with revenue. Replacing an aging and unreliable older network can again remove barriers to taking new business. TANet networks can also enable new service delivery to new or existing customers.

How are TANet networks more secure that others?

Fibernet Enterprise customers are usually large and demanding organisations. The scale of the networks and the raw capacity needed to deliver the services make it feasible for Fibernet to design each network from the fibre optic cables used "upwards". In this model, customer networks are based either upon their own individual fibres (in the building and metro) or on optical wavelengths or transmission capacity in the wide area (long distance). This ensures either the optical or electrical separation of each customer’s traffic from all others – higher order networks involving Ethernet, ATM and IP are dedicated to each customer’s private use. In this model, security is inherent. As no one customer network can "see" the traffic of another, privacy is ensured. These private networks also ensure that peaks in demand from one or more customers in no way affect the traffic of others – a common problem on shared "mass market" networks.

The number of permutations of network, technology, topology and geography are virtually limitless. To make each of the "layers" we deploy a little easier to understand, we build each network from core "building blocks".
